Position Overview:

The Event Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless execution of banquet services, fostering an environment of excellence and teamwork. This position requires a proactive leader who can effectively manage resources and enhance guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assess the needs of each shift, allocate resources accordingly, and communicate effectively with the team to ensure timely delivery of services.
  2. Utilize departmental training materials to consistently mentor and develop team members.
  3. Implement daily expectations using approved tools and checklists, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently.
  4. Inspire and motivate team members to cultivate a collaborative atmosphere that promotes outstanding service.
  5. Monitor attendance and time management to adhere to labor budgets, making necessary adjustments in response to unforeseen changes.
  6. Adhere to Service Recovery protocols to address and resolve guest concerns, escalating issues when necessary.
  7. Promote the service culture of Professional Hospitality Resources, Inc. by focusing on key areas that enhance guest satisfaction.
  8. Conduct regular inspections of assigned areas to maintain cleanliness and adherence to standards, taking corrective action as needed.
  9. Manage safety and security protocols to ensure a safe environment for both staff and guests.
  10. Ensure compliance with all training requirements, including onboarding and ongoing education.
  11. Facilitate orientation for new hires, explaining company policies and procedures.
  12. Engage with team members in a professional manner, fostering a positive work environment.
  13. Lead daily pre-shift meetings to align team objectives.
  14. Enforce uniform and grooming standards to maintain a professional appearance.
  15. Delegate tasks to team members and inspect their work to ensure compliance with company standards.
  16. Interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner, creating memorable experiences.
  17. Ensure timely and efficient responses to all guest requests, maintaining a high level of service.
  18. Analyze Banquet Event Orders and coordinate with various stakeholders to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  19. Oversee the banquet budget, including labor and supply costs, to maximize revenue while ensuring quality service.
  20. Ensure comprehensive training for all department employees as outlined in the business plan.
  21. Prepare and submit departmental schedules for management approval.
  22. Conduct inventory checks to maintain adequate supplies.
  23. Participate in mandatory meetings and training sessions to enhance supervisory skills.
  24. Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  25. Ensure adherence to quality assurance standards set by relevant affiliations.
  26. Report any safety concerns or violations in accordance with company policy.

Qualifications:

Skills:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role within banquet services is preferred.
  • Familiarity with scheduling, purchase order processing, and expense management systems is advantageous.
  • A degree in a related field or equivalent experience is required.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Ability to interact courteously with guests and staff.
  • Strong multitasking abilities under time constraints.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Demonstrated leadership and direction-giving capabilities.
  • Analytical skills to define problems and interpret data effectively.
  • Mathematical proficiency to apply concepts such as ratios and percentages.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Willingness to engage in professional development and training.
  • Strong team-building and motivational skills.

Education:

  • One to two years of post-secondary education.

Experience:

  • Two to three years in a related supervisory position.

Additional Skills:

  • Ability to make decisions guided by established policies.
  • Familiarity with the Delphi system and optimal settings.
  • Experience managing operations with significant annual banquet sales.
