Education and Child Development Specialist

About the Role:This is a full-time position that requires a qualified teacher to lead and support the educational and child development programs at our Gardena-Carson Family YMCA Preschool. As an Education and Child Development Specialist, you will be responsible for creating a safe and nurturing environment for preschool-age children, planning and implementing engaging activities, and collaborating with other staff members to achieve program goals.
Responsibilities:- Nurturing Relationships: Develop positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, ensuring a sense of belonging and community among all participants.
- Curriculum Implementation: Plan and implement Creative Curriculum and activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate, and consistent with YMCA values and Desired Results findings.
- Observation and Evaluation: Make ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child's development, communicating with supervisors regarding progress and areas for improvement.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in early childhood education, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a passion for working with children. A salary range of $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience, is offered for this exciting opportunity.
