Child Welfare Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Child Welfare Specialist to join our team at Allies for Every Child. In this role, you will work with children and families in foster care to ensure their safety, well-being, and positive outcomes. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need it most.
As a Child Welfare Specialist, you will provide case management services, coordinate with LA County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) case workers, and facilitate connections between children and resource families. Your expertise in child development, attachment theory, and family systems will be essential in creating a supportive environment for children to thrive.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate the needs of each child, develop and update Needs & Services Plans (NSPs), and coordinate services with DCFS case workers.
- Facilitate joining children with suitable resource families, ensuring they meet RFA requirements and providing ongoing support.
- Supervise children in care, conduct regular meetings with children and resource families, and provide clinical support services as needed.
- A Master's degree in Social Work or a related field from an accredited institution is required.
- Demonstrated working knowledge and application of child development, attachment theory, and family systems theory.
- 2+ years of experience in child welfare and/or adoptions preferred.
- Excellent writing, case management, and communication skills.
The estimated salary for this role is $66,560-$70,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.
