Job Title: Customer Service Representative

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Customer Service Representative to join our team at Community Bank System, Inc. (CBSI). As a key member of our retail division, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences to our clients across Upstate New York, Northeastern Pennsylvania, Vermont, and Western Massachusetts.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide top-notch customer service and support to our clients, ensuring their banking needs are met with a professional and courteous attitude.
  • Determine customer needs and provide solutions, explaining and selling products and services as needed.
  • Participate in branch prospecting efforts to identify new business opportunities and promote our products and services.
  • Assist customers with various requests, such as stop payments, wire transfers, balance discrepancies, loan information, and more.
  • Serve as a liaison between customers and operational areas, ensuring seamless communication and resolution of issues.
  • Conduct customer transactions with accuracy and prepare daily cash balancing within established guidelines.
  • Stay up-to-date on all laws and regulations applicable to this position, ensuring ongoing compliance and adherence to policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Internal product knowledge and teller training.
  • Accurate and proficient math skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Clear thinking and ability to stay focused.
  • Must be able to consistently demonstrate the Company's core values: a strong work ethic, integrity, respect for others, responsibility, transparency, and humility.
  • Two (2) years of bank and/or customer service experience normally required.
  • All applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Travel is required to surrounding branches as needed.
