Vice President, Environmental Leadership

Job Summary:
The Vice President, Environment and Science will lead the Foundation's efforts to advance enduring solutions for a healthy, resilient natural world. This role will oversee a portfolio of initiatives, including nature-based solutions, to protect and restore the natural world for nature and people.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and execute a strategic plan for the Environment and Science portfolio, aligning with the Foundation's mission, vision, and values.
- Lead a team of Directors and staff to advance the Foundation's goals in climate, ocean conservation, and sustainable development.
- Collaborate with senior leaders to execute on the Foundation's strategic direction and drive collaboration across teams.
- Attract, develop, and retain high-performing team members, empowering them to elevate their level of responsibility and quality of work.
- Cultivate a climate of diversity, equity, inclusion, innovation, and collaboration within the team and across the Foundation.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in environment and science, with expertise in building, implementing, and evaluating strategies for impact.
- Experience navigating complex international landscapes and engaging with diverse partners across global contexts.
- Significant people/team management experience, including management of multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to work globally in a nonpartisan and collaborative manner across the ideological spectrum.
- Ability to make complex, multidimensional decisions in a mission-driven, strategic organizational environment.
- Advanced degree in a related field or equivalent education and work experience.
- Proven ability to recruit, develop, manage, and retain a team of high-performing individual contributors and managers from diverse backgrounds.
- Highly skilled communicator with exceptional interpersonal, facilitation, and written and oral communication skills.
- Devoted to growing cultural competence and willing to actively participate in the Foundation's efforts to integrate equity and justice in all facets of the work.
- Competitive salary range: $400,000-$500,000.
- Relocation package available if needed.
