Advanced Practice Nurse

Nurse Practitioners (NPs) play a crucial role in the healthcare system by diagnosing patient conditions through thorough examinations and diagnostic tests. Utilizing their expertise, they prescribe appropriate treatments and medications aimed at addressing various health issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the primary healthcare team to deliver comprehensive medical care services in accordance with established standards for Internal Medicine patients.
- Initiate laboratory and radiology tests and make referrals to specialists as necessary.
- Evaluate reports, test outcomes, medical histories, and physical examinations to accurately diagnose patient conditions and recommend treatment strategies.
- Prescribe medications and treatment plans tailored to the documented medical conditions of patients.
- Discuss potential side effects of prescribed treatments with patients, ensuring that allergy information is current prior to medication administration.
- Provide guidance on lifestyle and dietary modifications that may enhance patient health or assist in managing specific health concerns.
- Adhere to departmental protocols, ongoing quality improvement initiatives, and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
- Uphold patient confidentiality and comply with all applicable federal and state health information privacy regulations.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and legible medical documentation.
- Proven experience in delivering primary care and diagnostic services within a clinical environment.
- Demonstrated ability to prescribe suitable medications and health regimens for patient care.
- Experience in collaborating with specialists to assess and diagnose patient health conditions.
- Strong teamwork skills, working effectively with healthcare professionals to ensure positive patient experiences.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Primary Care Physician role beyond residency, with the following credentials:
- M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical institution in the United States.
- Successful completion of residency at an accredited healthcare facility.
- Board certification in primary care or a related specialty.
- Valid State Medical Practitioner License.
- Current registration with the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Department of Public Safety (DPS) for prescription authority.
