Position Overview:
Nurse Practitioners (NPs) play a crucial role in the healthcare system by diagnosing patient conditions through comprehensive examinations and diagnostic tests. They are responsible for prescribing appropriate treatments and medications aimed at addressing various health issues.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the primary healthcare team to deliver essential medical care services in accordance with established standards for Internal Medicine patients.
  • Request laboratory and radiology assessments and refer patients to specialists as necessary.
  • Evaluate reports, test outcomes, medical histories, and examinations to accurately diagnose patient conditions and recommend treatment plans.
  • Prescribe medications and treatment protocols to manage identified medical conditions.
  • Discuss potential side effects of prescribed treatments with patients and ensure all allergy information is current prior to prescribing.
  • Provide guidance to patients regarding lifestyle and dietary modifications that may enhance their health or assist in managing their health concerns.
  • Comply with departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, as well as ongoing quality improvement initiatives and safety standards.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to all federal and state health information privacy regulations.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and legible medical documentation.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in delivering primary care and diagnostic services within a clinical environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to prescribe suitable medications and treatment plans for various health issues.
  • Experience in collaborating with specialists to assess and diagnose patient health conditions.
  • Strong background in working within a healthcare team to ensure positive patient experiences.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Primary Care Physician role beyond residency, with the following credentials:
  • M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical institution in the United States.
  • Successful completion of residency at an accredited healthcare facility.
  • Board certification in primary care or a related specialty.
  • Valid State Medical Practitioner License.
  • Current DEA and DPS registration for prescription authority.
