About the Role:

As a pivotal member of the Quality Engineering Team, the Back Office QA Engineer will work closely with software developers, operations engineers, and project managers to grasp client needs and formulate testing strategies for site and data verification.

Your primary responsibilities will include defining, developing, and executing test suites that support Cartera's solutions, particularly during critical shopping periods.

Additionally, you will be tasked with enhancing and executing automation for test suites to boost effectiveness, efficiency, and coverage over time.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with QA and Development leads to establish testing strategies for Back Office systems.
  • Design, develop, and execute both manual and automated test suites in conjunction with QA Leads.
  • Assist in the deployment of BOSS features, fixes, and enhancements.
  • Work alongside QA and development teams to refine testing processes for improved efficiency and coverage.
  • Engage in test plan design and execution for release candidates.
  • Support the establishment and maintenance of various testing environments.

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Experience with data and/or financial processing systems.
  • Familiarity with relational databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of open-source QA tools, techniques, and bug tracking systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in both Windows and Linux environments.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (Java, PHP, Python, Selenium).

Desirable Skills and Experience:
  • Experience with Selenium/Webdriver.
  • Familiarity with Robot Framework.
  • Background in e-commerce applications.
  • Experience with mobile and responsive applications.
  • Understanding of data concepts and experience with large, complex datasets.
  • Knowledge of Linux and Apache.
  • Experience with SVN (Subversion) and Scrum methodologies.
