A dynamic automotive manufacturer is seeking a Quality Assurance Systems Specialist to enhance their quality engineering team. In this role, you will report to the Quality Manager and be responsible for:

  • Overseeing the IATF 16949 quality management system and supporting ISO 14001 systems.
  • Managing the internal audit framework.
  • Supporting layered process evaluations.
  • Facilitating customer and third-party audits.
  • Ensuring the accuracy and adequacy of business systems documentation.
  • Leading root cause analysis for quality-related issues and implementing necessary corrective measures.
  • Managing internal deviations and overseeing document control, including activity recording.
  • Assisting maintenance and EHS with compliance and document management of ISO 14001.
  • Providing training to team members on quality systems.
  • Updating work instructions as required.
  • Supporting change management and leading strategic initiatives related to quality systems.
  • Identifying and driving continuous improvement projects.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by management.

Candidates should possess strong communication skills across all levels and exhibit exceptional organizational abilities. The ideal candidate will be self-driven, capable of taking ownership of projects, and able to work both independently and collaboratively. A presence on the production floor may be required (up to 15% of the time), and meeting deadlines is essential. Qualifications for the Quality Assurance Systems Specialist - IATF 16949:

  1. Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
  2. At least 2-5 years of experience in a similar quality systems engineering role, depending on educational background.
  3. Experience in supporting quality systems within an automotive supplier or OEM environment.
  4. Experience as a manager or contributor responsible for IATF 16949 quality systems.
  5. Formal training in problem-solving and root cause analysis.
  6. Working knowledge of critical characteristics in automotive manufacturing.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Preferred Skills (not mandatory):

  1. IATF Lead Auditor Certification in IATF, ISO 14001, or VDA.
  2. Experience with 8D and/or 5WHY problem-solving methodologies.
  3. Ability to interpret blueprints.
  4. Familiarity with Minitab.
  5. Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  6. Strong customer communication skills.
