Controls System Operations Specialist

Emory University is seeking a highly skilled Controls System Operations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our building automation systems.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and guide other Controls System Operating Technicians in their daily tasks and responsibilities.
- Act as a liaison between the Controls Shop Supervisor and other departments as needed.
- Assist in the commissioning of new controls systems and vendors.
- Analyze and troubleshoot HVAC systems for air and hydraulic balances.
- Monitor and operate the energy management system that controls the HVAC systems.
- Retrofit, troubleshoot, calibrate, repair, and maintain HVAC systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance on direct digital, pneumatic, electric, and electronic controls for HVAC systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematic drawings, including control prints.
- Ensure adherence to OSHA standards and other applicable federal and state regulations when working with hazardous chemicals and power equipment.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Seven years of experience with controls systems, including two years of experience with at least one BAS controls software and general knowledge of HVAC systems.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and electronics systems.
- A working knowledge of various computer software applications.
- Preference will be given to applicants with knowledge of Siemens, Johnson, or ALC controls systems, completion of a HVACR program at a technical or trade school, and/or State of Georgia Conditioned Air Contractors License.
- A valid Georgia driver's license and an insurable driving record.
