Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Control Systems Engineer to join our Federal Systems team at Johnson Controls International plc. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing HVAC building automation and control systems.

Key Responsibilities

Configure and program HVAC building automation and control systems (direct digital controls) and create sequence of operations
Develop and test software programs to operate the system
Support technicians by ensuring the quality, timeliness, and efficiency of designs
Commission and troubleshoot building control systems
Coordinate drawings and equipment schedules to include in detailed information and submittal packages that communicate design and operation to customers, consultants, field installation team, and subcontractors
Coordinate factory-mounting processes to meet factory and project schedule
Help load and commission system-level and network-level controllers
Validate complete system functionality
Provide field change information to the project team for as-built drawings (Visio/CAD) and software
Keep management, contractors, and customers informed of job progress and issues
Provide site-specific training for owner/operator on the total building control system

Requirements

5 or more years of industry experience developing and implementing HVAC Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems, including Metasys programming, configuration, and visualization
Experience working with design packages and submittals
Must be willing and able to complete JCI training course C-7201-EN Metasys System Engineering and C-10122-EN Custom Logic (Including Global Sequencer) @ CCT 10.1
Must be able to obtain and maintain required security clearances (background/character, criminal history, employment, and credit checks)
In order to meet the increasing demands of our customers and comply with the Federal orders, where legally permissible, we may require all new hires to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment and submit proof in our Johnson Controls Vaccination Tracker upon hire, unless candidate has a valid medical condition or sincerely held religious belief precluding he/she from receiving the vaccine

Preferred Qualifications

Experience integrating low voltage building sub-systems using various industry protocols (i.e. LON, BACnet, Modbus, etc.)
Experience and demonstrated knowledge working with Metasys Direct Digital Control (DDC) system
Experience using SMP, SCT, and/or CCT
Knowledge and experience creating SCT databases, custom programs, schedules, trends, alarms, and programming modules
Demonstrated knowledge of AutoCad and/or Visio
