The main objective of the Surgical Services Support Specialist role is to serve as an essential contributor to the Surgical Team, ensuring effective and safe patient care through the timely turnover of the operating room and the upkeep of supplies, instruments, and equipment.
As a part of the Surgical Team, this position requires demonstrating collaboration, effective communication, and active participation in initiatives aimed at process and performance enhancement.
The Surgical Services Support Specialist must possess a thorough understanding of Infection Control Guidelines, relevant regulatory standards, and Safety Alerts mandated by oversight agencies.
Required Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent is necessary, along with a minimum of one (1) year of experience in a hospital setting or a comparable mix of training and experience. CPR certification is mandatory.
The candidate should be capable of reading, writing, speaking, understanding, and communicating in English effectively to fulfill the responsibilities of the role; prior experience in a supervisory capacity is advantageous.
Ability to perform under pressure and manage stress over extended periods is essential. The role requires the capacity to handle frequent interruptions from various sources.
