Job Summary:

As a Surgical Support Specialist at Axelon, you will provide critical assistance to surgical residents and attending physicians in our oral surgery clinic and dental ambulatory OR/procedure room. This role requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Escort patients to the surgical chair and screen patients awaiting surgery to ensure all necessary information is complete.

Maintain a clean and organized environment by cleaning and disinfecting counter tops, mayo stands, equipment, and other areas as needed.

Organize and prepare sterile instruments, surgical trays, and equipment for each procedure.

Take radiographs as requested and restock cabinets and drawers with medical/surgical supplies.

Provide chair-side assistance in monitoring patient vitals, suctioning, passing instruments, medications, and other necessary tasks.

Remove all instruments and equipment at the end of the procedure and dispose of medical waste during the break-down period.

Requirements:

Dental Assistant Certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification are required.

A minimum of 3 years of experience is required, with 5 years preferred.

Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential for success in this role.
