The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is looking for a Custodian I to contribute to our mission of enhancing community well-being. Our organization is dedicated to fostering a healthy environment and promoting positive social interactions.

This role is essential in ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming atmosphere for all visitors. As a Custodian I, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of our facilities.


Key Responsibilities:


- Conduct thorough interior cleaning tasks, including vacuuming carpets, washing windows, addressing spills, sweeping or mopping floors, and removing scuff marks from surfaces.
- Maintain restrooms and locker rooms, ensuring they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Assist in the preparation and support of special events and activities as required.
- Document and report maintenance needs and additional cleaning tasks to your supervisor.
- Ensure the security of the building and property during your shift, reporting any incidents or hazardous conditions promptly.
- Operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to established procedures and techniques.

  • Have a basic understanding of equipment maintenance.

Additionally, you must be willing to complete required training, including Child Abuse Prevention training on your first day.


Compensation:
$16.80 to $18.80 per hour, based on qualifications.
Hours: Part-Time, Up to 25 hours per week, with flexible daytime and evening shifts.
