Position Overview:

The Facilities Maintenance Specialist position at Olympic College encompasses a range of cleaning, maintenance, and custodial responsibilities aimed at upholding the cleanliness and functionality of the college's facilities. Under the guidance of a senior custodian, you will be integral in fostering a safe and welcoming atmosphere conducive to education and work. Your duties will include adhering to established protocols, achieving productivity goals, and following safety regulations.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Proactively carry out assigned tasks with a focus on safety
  • Implement cleaning schedules as instructed by the Custodial Services Manager
  • Leverage the Compuclean system for effective project management
  • Conduct thorough cleaning operations
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on various equipment and fixtures
  • Assist in the setup and dismantling of events
  • Carry out interior painting tasks as required
  • Promptly report any maintenance issues
  • Ensure adherence to recycling practices
  • Participate in seasonal responsibilities such as snow removal
Qualifications:

Essential:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 6 months to 1 year of experience in custodial work
  • Basic proficiency in computer and mathematical skills
  • Valid Driver's License
Desirable:
  • Experience with Team Cleaning methods
  • Background in maintenance or repair tasks
  • Defensive Driving Certification
