Immediate opportunity for a Mechanical Technician or Electric Specialist
Boarhog LLC is seeking a qualified Mechanical Technician or Electric Specialist with a strong background in mechanical work to support the U.S. Navy's Carrier Engineering Maintenance Assist Team (CEMAT). This position is based in the Bremerton, Washington area.
Qualifications and Experience Required:- High School diploma, Trade School certification, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in mechanical or electrical fields.
- OSHA 10 Certification is mandatory.
- Proficient in interpreting technical manuals, specifications, and engineering drawings.
- Skilled in the use and maintenance of specialized mechanical tools and equipment.
- Knowledgeable in the assembly, installation, and repair of various equipment.
- Familiar with measuring instruments including mechanical, electrical, and electronic devices.
- Experience in maintaining ship propulsion systems and auxiliary machinery.
- Ability to adjust, test, and maintain hydraulic hoses, valves, and fittings.
- Competent in repairing pumps, valves, heat exchangers, compressors, and pneumatic devices.
- Capable of creating and analyzing machinery operation reports.
- Proficient in interpreting blueprints to ensure accurate repairs on marine machinery.
- Experience with precision instruments such as micrometers and feeler gauges.
- Adept at troubleshooting and overhauling pumps and fire-fighting machinery.
- Skilled in diagnosing marine machinery issues to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Experience in repairing and adjusting water and sewage systems, including hydraulic piping systems.
- TIG/SMA/MIG Welding Certification.
- Experience with shipboard fluid systems piping.
- Prior experience as a Navy Machinist Mate (E-5 and above).
- Experience with QA/Work package processes.
- Candidates must possess or be eligible to obtain a SECRET clearance, as determined by Boarhog's Facility Security Officer.
- Preference for candidates residing in or willing to relocate to a Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone).
