Overview:
The Facilities Maintenance Specialist position at Olympic College encompasses a range of cleaning, custodial, and maintenance responsibilities aimed at upholding the cleanliness and safety of the campus facilities. Under the guidance of a senior custodian, you will contribute significantly to fostering a conducive environment for education and work. Key duties include adhering to established cleaning protocols, achieving productivity goals, and following safety regulations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform job functions with a strong emphasis on safety
- Carry out cleaning assignments as instructed by the Custodial Services Manager
- Implement the Compuclean system for effective project management
- Conduct thorough cleaning operations
- Maintain and repair various tools and equipment
- Assist in the setup and dismantling of events
- Engage in interior painting as required
- Promptly report any maintenance issues
- Ensure adherence to recycling protocols
- Participate in seasonal responsibilities such as snow removal
Essential:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 6 months to 1 year of experience in custodial work
- Basic proficiency in computer and mathematical skills
- Valid Driver's License
- Experience with Team Cleaning methods
- Background in maintenance or repair tasks
- Defensive Driving Certification
- Exhibit physical capability to perform the job duties
- Demonstrate strong customer service abilities
- Show reliability and punctuality
- Respect and promote diversity and inclusion
