We are in the process of developing an advanced autonomy software framework that empowers military and public safety personnel to seamlessly interact with robotic systems. This framework will enhance their situational awareness and decision-making capabilities in critical scenarios. Alongside our core software, we are also designing a compact, autonomous drone that showcases the potential of our software suite. This integrated solution is essential for unlocking the full capabilities of our offerings in targeted markets.

Your Responsibilities:

As a key member of our team, you will tackle complex autonomy challenges in small aerial robotics. Your work will involve:

  • Designing and testing algorithms for navigation, tracking, and stabilization of robotic platforms.
  • Developing and validating models through simulations in diverse environments to enhance navigation in GPS-denied conditions.
  • Contributing to software interfaces, operating systems, algorithm development, simulation, and optimization to ensure reliable navigation of autonomous systems in challenging situations.

Qualifications:

Essential Skills:

  • Extensive experience in C/C++, particularly in planning and navigation (8+ years preferred).
  • A degree in Robotics, Software Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in developing navigation algorithms for small platforms in environments without GPS.
  • Familiarity with mobile/embedded platforms such as NVIDIA XavierNX, Qualcomm Snapdragon, or Intel Neural Compute Stick (Movidius).
  • Expertise in addressing navigation challenges and adapting them for embedded/edge environments.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior software development experience on small uncrewed aerial systems (sUAS).
  • Knowledge of ROS/2 or PX4 is advantageous.
  • Experience with GTSAM or factor graphs is a plus.
  • Familiarity with simulation platforms like Gazebo, Airsim, or ISAAC.
  • Experience in real-time software development where latency is critical.
  • Python programming skills are beneficial.
  • An active security clearance is not required but is a plus.
