The Robotics Department at Southwest Research Institute is a leading research organization focused on developing cutting-edge robotics technologies for various industries. Our team is dedicated to advancing the state of the art in robotics and automation, with a strong emphasis on innovation and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and lead research programs to advance robotics technologies, including localization, navigation, mapping, path planning, perception, modeling, and simulation.
- Mentor and guide colleagues to enhance research and development capabilities across the organization.
- Identify new applications and industries for robotics technologies and develop strategies to capture new research projects.
- Design, implement, and test advanced robotic systems, including software and hardware development.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and industry trends through conferences, publications, and collaborations.
- Ph.D. in Robotics, Mechatronics, Controls, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 8-18 years of industry, academic, or government research experience in robotics, autonomous vehicles, or related fields.
- Strong writing, presentation, and software engineering skills, with expertise in C++ and Python.
- Business development and proposal writing experience, with a strong understanding of the robotics industry.
- A valid driver's license is required.
