Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Survey Manager - Professional Land Surveyor to join our team at Atlas. As a key member of our Land Surveying team, you will be responsible for managing surveying and mapping projects, leveraging various survey methods, and ensuring that our team members adhere to internal standards and external regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage surveying and mapping projects, including leveraging survey methods, LiDAR mapping, photography, drones, GPS technologies, and conventional methods to map, as-built, retrace or construct project tasks.
  • Coordinate day-to-day operations and field survey activities to ensure that Land Surveying (LS) team members adhere to internal standards and external regulatory requirements.
  • Perform office work, including field note reductions, traverse adjustments using Leica Infinity or other post-processing software, and prepare topographic maps using MicroStation Inroads and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Post-process, QA/QC, and deliverable generation, including data collection using GPS TPS, 3D Laser Scanning, and Photogrammetric technologies, and survey control functions utilizing both GPS and TPS.
  • Contribute to the development of LS capabilities by evaluating departmental equipment needs, coordinating maintenance and repairs, and integrating innovative Survey, Mapping and Geomatics technologies.
  • Supervise team members throughout the planning, coordination, and execution of surveying projects to ensure accurate and reliable measurements of land and property boundaries.
  • Develop relationships with organizational leaders, stakeholders, and clients to identify and assess their business requirements, and recommend the best-suited method for their surveying need.
  • Evaluate individual performances during all project phases to assess training gaps and provide recommendations for improving training programs.

Requirements

  • P.L.S. Washington required.
  • 4 years minimum of professional experience.
  • 2+ years experience Project Management, Business Development is a plus.
  • P.L.S. Washington required.
  • Civil3D.
  • Microstation (Inroads / Openroads).
  • Microsoft suite.
  • Starnet.
  • Leica office software.
