Summary:
As a Human Resources Assistant focused on Staffing and Recruitment, you will play a vital role in supporting the Recruiting and Human Resources teams. Your responsibilities will encompass managing application processes and documentation, including the creation of vacancy announcements and tentative offer letters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize eRecruit (USA Staffing) systems to draft and review vacancy announcements.
- Document and confirm the receipt of necessary forms (such as resumes, SF50s, and DD214s) from applicants, ensuring proper upload to the automated application tracking system.
- Maintain both electronic and physical records of all applicant documentation.
- Prepare and send various form letters to candidates.
- Issue tentative or final offer letters to selected applicants.
- Process, type, and distribute HR personnel documents (SF52s).
- Handle payroll or personnel actions in EmpowHR and NFC databases, including History Correction Update processing (HCUP).
- Compile and submit pre-employment packages (Background Investigation and Drug Panel) as per DEA guidelines.
- Conduct data analysis and maintain relevant spreadsheets.
- Provide general office support, including answering phones, document scanning, and filing.
- Manage external email communications to receive and send documentation from applicants and other sources.
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in federal human resources. Candidates with an associate's degree and four (4) years of practical experience in federal human resources will also be considered.
- At least two years of experience processing Personnel Action Requests, including coding or processing personnel actions at a Federal Agency or in support of a Federal Agency.
- A minimum of one year of experience using USA Staffing to draft and review vacancy announcements.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Office of Personnel Management (OPM) guidelines and the Guide to Processing Personnel Actions.
- Possession of an Active Public Trust Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
Work Schedule: This position requires a hybrid work schedule with three days onsite and two days remote.
