Ambulatory Clinic LPN Job Summary

The University of Kansas Hospital is seeking a skilled Ambulatory Clinic LPN to join our team. As an Ambulatory Clinic LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate patient care through the nursing process, collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Administer medications, perform vital signs, and obtain lab specimens as needed.
  • Assist with scheduling tests and treatments, and arrange referrals to specialists as directed.
  • Collect and document lab results, and enter them into the electronic medical record.
  • Notify patients of test results and follow-up appointments, and refer to RN/MD for patient education.
  • Review medications, treatment, and after-visit instructions with patients and families.
  • Respond to and screen telephone calls for referral to RN or physician.
  • Coordinate pre-visit planning by reviewing the EMR and proactively ordering labs and other tests based on approved clinic protocols.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • BLS Certification
  • Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of Kansas or Missouri, dependent upon work location
  • Basic typing and word processing ability
