Job Summary

The Automation Technician will play a crucial role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving the electrical and automation subsystems within the production facility at Michael Foods Inc.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure safe and efficient operation of electrical and automation systems
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues using advanced network troubleshooting techniques
  • Collaborate with internal and external resources to resolve issues and implement process improvements
  • Provide technical leadership and support to electrical and instrumentation technicians
  • Develop and maintain user manuals and training documentation
  • Identify and facilitate process and automation improvements
  • Work with IT to troubleshoot and maintain automation servers
Requirements
  • Two-year certificate from college or technical school or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Five years of strong industrial electrical background in a manufacturing environment (food processing plant preferred)
  • Experience with Allen Bradley/Rockwell automation required
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as electrical schematics, safety rules, and operating instructions
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Electrical Apprentice or Journeyman's license preferred
  • Experience with mechanical systems and pneumatics helpful
