Position Summary:

The Technical Support Specialist for Fleet Instrumentation and Controls is responsible for providing comprehensive electrical, mechanical, and automation support for our fleet of deployed assets. This role involves close collaboration with field services, logistics, external clients, and commercial teams to deliver effective troubleshooting and maintenance assistance, particularly focusing on instrumentation and automation linked to Reverse Osmosis (RO), Ultrafiltration, and Deionization (DI) systems, along with other water treatment technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver expert electrical, electronic, and mechanical support to Service operations.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems associated with water treatment technologies at client locations, including PLCs, VFDs, industrial instrumentation, pneumatics, motor controls, PID controllers, and power distribution systems.
  • Utilize knowledge of standard instrumentation in water treatment systems to perform calibrations and configurations.
  • Travel is minimal, typically less than 10% of the time.
  • Support and maintain remote monitoring equipment for asset performance monitoring systems.
  • Provide troubleshooting and technical assistance through various communication methods.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure accurate documentation and schematics.
  • Interpret and follow technical schematics, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings.
  • Contribute to the development of operational and training manuals.
  • Train service technicians on automation and instrumentation relevant to Veolia systems.
  • Review and advise on safe operational procedures for handling electrical and mechanical equipment.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience as an electrician/controls technician, with at least 5 years of experience.
  • Proficient in PLC & HMI/SCADA programming and troubleshooting, preferably with Rockwell or GE-IP/Emerson.
  • Experience in operating and troubleshooting water treatment equipment, especially UF and advanced membrane technologies, for a minimum of 5 years.
Eligibility Requirements:
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and safety guidelines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong mathematical skills for various calculations.
  • Willingness to travel as required (up to 10%).
  • Availability for on-call support as necessary.
