Sales Engineer for Retail Petroleum Solutions

Position Summary:
The Sales Engineer is tasked with steering the intricate sales journey, from prospect identification to the conclusion of sales transactions, specifically targeting small to medium enterprises in the Retail Petroleum sector. This role encompasses recognizing potential leads, formulating sales tactics, presenting compelling value propositions, conducting ROI assessments, advocating for investments, and ultimately securing sales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote and sell fuel price signage and associated services to retail petroleum businesses.
- Effectively present and articulate product offerings to potential clients.
- Conduct thorough needs assessments and convey the value of products to prospective customers.
- Comprehend and relay the technical details and advantages of the products/services offered.
- Establish and nurture relationships with daily contacts, as well as various leadership and executive personnel within client organizations.
- Maintain existing customer relationships while generating new business opportunities.
- Oversee project scope and manage customer expectations.
- Engage with clients from project initiation and ensure consistent communication to provide ongoing support.
- Document and manage all challenges and risks related to customer contracts during the post-implementation phase.
- Prepare pricing proposals and contracts using established templates and pricing protocols.
- Provide training as needed for both new and existing accounts.
- Process sales orders promptly and follow up on invoicing.
- Stay informed about industry trends, product innovations, and competitor activities.
- Identify potential customer categories, research contacts, develop tailored sales strategies, and implement systematic follow-up programs.
- Conduct cold outreach and marketing to targeted prospects.
- Maintain accurate records in the CRM system.
- Participate in customer events and trade shows.
- Willingness to travel 50% to 70% of the time.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of B2B sales experience, particularly in technical sales within the manufacturing sector.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong organizational and management skills.
- Self-driven and results-oriented.
- Able to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Demonstrated commitment to investing extra time and effort when necessary.
- Proficient in Excel, Outlook, Word, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Experience with NetSuite or similar CRM tools.
Compensation:
The starting salary for this role ranges from $70,000 to $80,000, with potential for higher earnings based on experience. This position is also eligible for commission.
