Lead Technical Security Specialist

The Lead Technical Security Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the Technical Security Program of the National Nuclear Security Administration. This position involves providing expert technical security assistance, conducting sensitive evaluations, and performing detailed assessments at various client locations. Candidates with extensive experience in Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM) within the Department of Energy or similar national laboratories will find this role particularly rewarding.
Role Summary
The Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM) Specialist will be integral to the National Nuclear Security Administration's (NNSA) Technical Security Program, focusing on technical security measures at national laboratories related to TSCM activities.
Key Responsibilities
The TSCM Specialist will be responsible for executing sensitive measurements and conducting thorough evaluations. Key responsibilities include:
- Operating and maintaining advanced measurement and survey instruments.
- Planning and implementing Technical Security evaluations in compliance with relevant DOE directives and policies.
- Drafting comprehensive classified reports that detail evaluation methodologies and technical outcomes.
- Addressing Technical Security findings in alignment with national and DOE/NNSA protocols, including delivering Technical Threat Briefings and analytical reports to senior officials.
- Performing additional duties as required.
Qualifications
- Active DOE Q or DOD Top Secret Security Clearance.
- A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in instrumented TSCM services.
- Completion of the Interagency Training Center (ITC) TSCM Fundamentals Course.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in management, business, criminal justice, security, or a related discipline.
- Current DOE Q Security Clearance.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, and Security+ are advantageous.
- Experience with TSCM in the context of DOE/NNSA or national laboratories.
Work Environment:
- This position requires on-site presence at the designated location five days a week.
