Position Overview
We are seeking an Inclusive Education Specialist to join our team at Cogent Infotech Corp. This role is essential in fostering an educational environment that supports diverse learning needs.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, with at least 24 semester hours in key instructional areas.
- Must hold valid state certification for the appropriate grade levels (K-6) with a Special Education endorsement.
- All educators must comply with state certification standards relevant to their position.
- Emergency and provisional certifications may be considered based on state guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and assess instructional activities in accordance with established guidelines, focusing primarily on elementary academic subjects.
- Complete necessary online training to access educational systems and resources.
- Engage in mandatory staff meetings and training sessions as determined by the administration.
- Participate in essential parent-teacher conferences and Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings.
- Adhere to federal regulations and state standards, ensuring compliance with all curriculum requirements.
- Collaborate with related service providers, including occupational therapists and social workers, to support student IEPs.
- Contribute to the Student Intervention Team (SIT) process by gathering data and providing recommendations.
- Conduct classes using diverse teaching methods tailored to students with learning disabilities, focusing on grades K-6.
- Meet with students and families to discuss educational progress and needs.
- Spend initial time reviewing student files and IEP information to understand individual student requirements.
- Prepare daily lesson plans aligned with each student's IEP.
- Utilize various instructional strategies and resources to ensure continuous student achievement.
- Regularly evaluate student progress and adjust instruction as needed to meet individual learning goals.
- Communicate progress to parents and collaborate with other stakeholders.
