Engineering Project Managers (EPMs) play a crucial role in Apple's ability to deliver exceptional customer experiences throughout its extensive ecosystem.

We facilitate collaboration across various departments, empowering teams to achieve more collectively than they could individually, thus broadening the scope of our potential as a company.

The Tools & Frameworks team is dedicated to creating the next generation of products, services, and tools that will enable developers, both within and outside of Apple, to maximize their creativity and efficiency.

We seek a seasoned, enthusiastic, and driven individual with a strong technical curiosity and a genuine passion for managing complex, cross-departmental projects in a dynamic environment.

In this role, you will work closely with software engineering leaders focused on enhancing developer productivity, ensuring strategic alignment on objectives, priorities, and execution across multiple teams.

You will also lead large-scale cross-functional projects that span these teams. Your responsibilities will include project planning, monitoring, execution, and reporting, as well as overseeing service qualification, deployment, and operations.

You will proactively identify, prioritize, and resolve program challenges by presenting new feature initiatives, key issues, risks, and significant accomplishments to executive leadership.

The ideal candidate will possess outstanding communication and organizational skills, a comprehensive understanding of the software development lifecycle, and substantial experience managing a cloud service from inception to completion.

Agile planning for large-scale projects is essential, along with the ability to think quickly to address challenges while serving as the central point of contact among teams.

Familiarity with components of computer architecture and operating systems, as well as build engineering and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CICD), is advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, schedules, and status documentation for our initiatives.
Facilitate collaboration among large, cross-functional stakeholder groups.
Act as a liaison to convey information regarding requirements, changes, milestones achieved, and other relevant details.
Present and communicate new feature initiatives, critical issues, risks, and significant accomplishments to executive leadership.
Focus on critical path deliverables and monitor the execution of dependencies.
Coordinate complex and highly interdependent changes through our build and integration systems.
Proactively identify risks to software delivery, develop mitigation strategies, and facilitate resolutions.

Minimum Qualifications:
At least 5 years of experience in program or project management within software development.
Knowledge of software engineering best practices and related dependencies.
Strong leadership abilities, including the capacity to build trusting relationships and influence others.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication style to various audiences.
Organizational and multitasking skills with a keen attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in software development management, software engineering, computer science, or a related field.
Experience in Build and Release Engineering / Release Management.
Project Management experience in the software development lifecycle.
Understanding of software build pipelines, merging, testing systems and methods, and code delivery.
Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery Analytics (preferably Splunk/Tableau).
Knowledge of operating system internals and architecture skills.

Compensation & Benefits:
At Apple, base pay is just one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a specified range.

This allows for growth as you develop within your role.

The base pay range for this position is between $136,300 and $248,700, with your base pay dependent on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become shareholders through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.

Employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if they voluntarily participate in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

Additional Benefits:

Comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a variety of discounted products and free services, and reimbursement for certain educational expenses related to career advancement at Apple, including tuition.
