Position Title: Head of Financial Reporting

Job Overview:

The Head of Financial Reporting is tasked with overseeing specialized financial disclosures, including the comprehensive cost report process, which encompasses both fiscal and calendar year reporting. This role involves preparing for external audits and establishing detailed schedules and analyses for financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting Management:
  • Comprehend the guidelines for financial reporting and lead the reporting process to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare and submit necessary extensions and detailed schedules to support financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate audits and reviews.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to gather essential financial data.
  • Review and reconcile financial statements to ensure compliance with reporting standards.
  1. Audit Coordination:
  • Organize financial data for audits and act as the primary liaison with auditors.
  • Manage the audit process efficiently, including addressing inquiries and providing documentation.
  1. Data Analysis and Review:
  • Conduct thorough analyses of financial schedules to identify discrepancies and ensure record accuracy.
  • Provide insights into financial variances and present findings to management.
  • Collaborate with accounting teams to resolve issues discovered during analysis.
  1. Team Leadership:
  • Supervise the Senior Accountant responsible for allocations and reporting, ensuring accuracy in data collection.
  • Support the team in hiring, training, and performance management.
  1. Collaboration with Internal Teams:
  • Work closely with the contracts team to ensure compliance with reporting standards.
  • Respond to inquiries from regulatory agencies regarding financial reporting.
  1. Special Projects:
  • Assist in special financial reporting as required by funding sources.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all financial matters.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in a financial leadership role with expertise in reporting and audit preparation.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software and reporting systems.
