About the Role

Craft Recruiting is seeking a seasoned Commercial Collections Manager to lead our commercial collections operations and drive the growth of our collections department into a full-service agency. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing standard operating procedures, leading a team of collections specialists, and engaging with clients to resolve outstanding balances.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Collections Strategies: Design and implement effective collections strategies to ensure scalability and growth of our commercial collections operations.
  • Lead and Mentor Collections Team: Foster a culture of continuous improvement and success within the collections team, providing guidance and support to ensure team members meet their goals.
  • Client Engagement and Relationship Management: Engage with clients to address outstanding balances, resolve disputes, and negotiate payment arrangements, maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Case File Management and Compliance: Oversee the preparation and management of case files, ensuring accuracy and legal compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize data analytics to track payment behaviors, identify high-risk accounts, and develop tailored collection strategies.
  • Payment Processing and Tracking: Manage the timely and accurate receipt of payments, working closely with processors and tracking payment statuses.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all collections activities comply with relevant laws and regulations, including data privacy and debt collection laws.
  • Department Growth and Expansion: Drive the expansion of the collections department into a full-service agency, capable of handling external bad debt and distressed assets.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial collections, with a focus on scaling collections operations.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Strong knowledge of UCC filings, secured transaction laws, and experience with the New York court system. Proficiency in financial analysis, ROI calculations, and forecasting. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong leadership, analytical, and project management abilities.
