Position Overview

Yard Operations Supervisor

As the fastest-growing rental business in North America, Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Yard Operations Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily tasks assigned to yard personnel.
  • Assist team members with their daily responsibilities.
  • Ensure the yard is maintained in a safe and orderly manner.
  • Enforce safety protocols and procedures.
  • Guide yard staff in daily operations.
  • Participate in weekly safety meetings and morning briefings.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to walk-in clients.
  • Verify work orders to ensure proper equipment is prepared for loading.
  • Conduct daily inspections of yard forklifts.
  • Assist customers with order fulfillment and loading of equipment.
  • Inspect returned equipment for any damage incurred during the rental period.
  • Maintain an updated checklist of equipment status.
  • Support the identification of TBR/DBR fleet and communicate with the Yard Manager.
  • Uphold yard organization and cleanliness.
  • Promote safe work practices among all staff and offer guidance as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:
High School diploma with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the construction field preferred.
Experience in equipment shipping and receiving is advantageous.
Strong understanding of equipment utilization and safety standards.
Exemplary personal and professional integrity.
Proven experience with tools and equipment.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to bend, squat, crouch, and reach, lifting up to 25 pounds or more as necessary. Some roles may require extended periods of driving, loading and unloading heavy equipment, and working in varying weather conditions, including rain, wind, or extreme temperatures. All tasks must be performed in accordance with Sunbelt's safety policies and guidelines. Reasonable accommodations may be made to comply with ADA/ADAAA.
