Job Summary:

This position involves overseeing a team of Respiratory Therapists and ECMO Specialists in various clinical programs and settings:

  • Evaluating staff performance, providing counseling, and implementing disciplinary measures when needed.
  • Supervising Respiratory Care Department and ECMO Program operations.
  • Ensuring appropriate staffing, equipment levels, and resources are maintained and monitored.
  • Delivering direct and consultative respiratory care and extracorporeal life support.
  • Offering leadership in developing and evaluating clinical practices, procedures, and professionalism.
  • Engaging in quality improvement initiatives and representing the department in clinical programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Respiratory Therapists and ECMO Specialists in various clinical programs and settings.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve staff performance and patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations and high-quality patient care.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in respiratory care and ECMO.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Active Massachusetts license as a Respiratory Therapist.
  • Current registration as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care.
  • Neonatal Pediatric Specialist (NPS) certification.
  • Minimum 4 years of clinical experience as a licensed respiratory therapist, with at least 3 years in pediatrics.
  • Completion of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation training and 1-2 years experience as an Associate ECMO Specialist.
  • Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
