Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Care Supervisor to join our team at Boston Children's Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the Respiratory Care Department and ECMO Program, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision: Provide guidance and oversight to Respiratory Therapists and ECMO Specialists, promoting a culture of excellence and professionalism.
  • Performance Evaluation and Development: Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and develop strategies to improve staff performance and productivity.
  • Department Operations: Manage the day-to-day operations of the Respiratory Care Department, including staffing, equipment, and resource allocation.
  • Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing evidence-based practices to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Education and Training: Provide education and training to staff on new procedures, technologies, and best practices, ensuring they are equipped to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Foster strong relationships with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure seamless patient care and services.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in a related field, such as respiratory therapy or a related healthcare field.
  • Experience: A minimum of 4 years of clinical experience as a licensed respiratory therapist, with at least 3 years in a pediatric specialty.
  • Certifications: Current Massachusetts license as a Respiratory Therapist, current registration by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), and Neonatal Pediatric Specialist (NPS) certification.
  • Training: Completion of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation training with at least 1 year of clinical experience as an Associate ECMO Specialist.
