Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Brigham and Women's Hospital. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our respiratory care team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, and implement respiratory care procedures for critically ill patients, including mechanical ventilation and airway management.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Conduct pulmonary function tests and other diagnostic procedures to evaluate patient respiratory status.
  • Develop and implement education programs for patients, families, and healthcare staff on respiratory care and disease management.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and optimize respiratory care services.
Requirements
  • A.S. in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent.
  • One year of clinical training or equivalent experience.
  • Current licensure as a Respiratory Therapist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Registration (RRT) by the N.B.R.C. within six months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • B.S. in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent.
  • Two years of previous critical care experience.
  • ECMO experience strongly preferred.
Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
