We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Tufts Medical Center. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to patients of all ages, including those with cardio-pulmonary dysfunction.
Key Responsibilities- Provide respiratory care services to patients in various settings, including ICUs, in-patient rooms, Emergency Room, and outpatient clinics.
- Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans to meet their respiratory care requirements.
- Administer inhaled medications and aerosol therapy as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor patient response to therapy and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Document patient care and treatment plans in the medical record.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of clinical practice guidelines.
- Provide education and training to patients, families, and healthcare staff on respiratory care and disease management.
- Bachelor's degree in a health-related field or equivalent.
- Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent.
- Current licensure and registration as a Respiratory Therapist in Massachusetts.
- One to two years of experience in acute and critical care settings.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and respiratory therapy science.
This position requires frequent contact with patients, families, and healthcare staff. You will be exposed to infectious patients, blood products, and contaminated equipment. You must be able to lift and transport respiratory therapy equipment (up to 100 lbs.) and work in a fast-paced environment.
