Job Summary:
We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Support Specialist to deliver daily engineering assistance in our production areas as needed. This position will concentrate on aiding the design, development, and execution of PLC projects. The preferred candidate will possess 0-2 years of experience with Rockwell Control Logix PLC code, robotic systems, electrical design evaluations, and troubleshooting programming issues. This role also entails providing technical assistance and services across various facility sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop or assist in formulating solutions for specific project-related challenges.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and other departments to resolve regulatory compliance issues.
  • Document, execute, and report on validation activities.
  • Design and perform routine testing, project experiments, data analysis, and result documentation.
  • Conduct engineering assessments on new equipment to establish appropriate settings and control parameters.
  • Initiate or modify protocols and operational instructions specific to projects.
  • Carry out NCR/CAPA investigations and related tasks.
  • Oversee and implement change control activities concerning equipment.
  • Provide training and technical support within the production department.
  • Interpret, implement, and suggest modifications to operational policies as necessary.
  • Assist in the design, installation, and commissioning of new equipment and systems.
  • Perform technical troubleshooting and problem resolution for both existing and new equipment/systems.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams on projects related to existing and new product lines.
  • Regularly transition between office and production environments.
  • Work in a controlled environment without natural light.
  • Occasionally use a ladder to access machinery.
Preferred Technical Software Skills:
  • PLC: Allen-Bradley Control Logix, AB500, Safety PLCs
  • HMI: Allen-Bradley
  • Communication: Understanding of TCP/IP networks, RS-232 interfaces, Profibus communication, Fieldbus, and HSSB
  • Electrical: Hands-on troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, knowledge of Category 3 Safety Systems, E-Plan P8, AutoCAD, ability to read and create schematics
  • Drives (such as servo and VFD), motion control, encoders, hydraulics, and pneumatics
  • Robotics (preferred): Fanuc, Yaskawa
  • Vision Systems (preferred): Cognex, Keyence
  • Programming (Bonus): C#, C++, VB, SQL Server
Technical Skills:
  • Familiarity with Allen-Bradley PLCs.
  • Familiarity with servo control systems (Rockwell, Yaskawa) preferred.
  • Ability to read and write electrical schematics.
  • Hands-on mechanical skill set is advantageous.
Qualifications:
  • Experience Level: Experienced
  • Minimum 2 years of experience required
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (mandatory)
Skills:
  • Controls (2 years of experience is required)
