We are currently seeking a skilled Lead Automation Engineer for a contract opportunity with potential for long-term engagement. This role involves significant responsibilities and requires a deep understanding of automation processes and controls.

Position Overview:
This position is critical in ensuring the seamless operation of automated systems and processes. The successful candidate will collaborate with various teams to enhance operational efficiency and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement solutions tailored to specific project requirements.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize existing processes.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to address regulatory compliance challenges.
  • Document and execute validation activities, providing comprehensive reports.
  • Conduct routine testing and experiments, analyzing data to inform decision-making.
  • Perform engineering assessments on new equipment to establish optimal settings and control parameters.
  • Initiate and revise protocols and operating instructions relevant to projects.
  • Conduct investigations and manage corrective actions as needed.
  • Oversee change control activities associated with equipment modifications.
  • Provide training and technical support within the production department.
  • Interpret and recommend modifications to operational policies when necessary.
  • Assist in the design, installation, and commissioning of new systems and equipment.
  • Address technical issues and implement solutions for both existing and new systems.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams on projects related to product lines.
  • Regularly transition between office and production environments.
  • Work effectively in controlled environments with limited natural light.
  • Occasionally access machinery via ladders.
Qualifications and Technical Expertise:
  • Demonstrated accountability and ownership of projects.
  • Proven leadership and project management capabilities.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Technical skills in PLC systems, particularly Allen-Bradley.
  • Experience with HMI systems, specifically Allen-Bradley interfaces.
  • Understanding of communication protocols such as TCP/IP and RS-232.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting skills with electrical systems and safety protocols.
  • Knowledge of motion control systems, including servo and VFD technologies.
  • Experience with robotics and vision systems is advantageous.
  • Programming skills in languages such as C#, C++, and SQL Server are a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • A mechanical skill set is beneficial.
  • A degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics) is required.
  • Experience in regulated industries is preferred.
