Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Dining Room Host to join our team at House of Blues. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional guest experiences and ensuring seamless service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet guests promptly and courteously, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Manage guest flow, controlling the pace of arrivals and departures to optimize service efficiency.
  • Anticipate and respond to guest needs, providing personalized attention and resolving any issues promptly.
  • Direct guests to their tables, ensuring a smooth and efficient seating process.
  • Estimate and quote accurate wait times, maintaining transparency and setting guest expectations.
  • Lead guests to their tables, placing menus and ensuring a comfortable dining experience.
  • Market current and future shows, menu items, and retail offerings by placing marketing literature on dining tables.
  • Provide accurate information about the menu, music hall, and artists appearing at the House.
  • Manage guest lists, industry access, and dinner reservation sheets for special events.
  • Handle concert tickets and signature sheets, ensuring accurate and secure processing.
  • Obtain production sheets for current nights, maintaining up-to-date information.
  • Check foundation membership cards and photo IDs, adhering to HOB dress code policies.
  • Hand out wristbands and/or opera box passes, ensuring guest access and enjoyment.
  • Thank each guest for visiting the House, inviting them to return in a friendly and sincere manner.
  • Develop knowledge of House of Blues-related art, music, and history, enhancing guest experiences.
  • Adhere to HOB Hospitality Zone standards, maintaining a clean and organized environment.
  • Communicate with other support departments, ensuring seamless service delivery.
  • Communicate with door hosts, kitchen staff, and Foundation Room Managers to ensure proper flow and guest satisfaction.
  • Assist other departments as needed, demonstrating teamwork and adaptability.
  • Maintain a clean and organized host area, adhering to House of Blues safety and sanitation standards.
Requirements:
  • Appearance: Maintain a professional appearance, adhering to HOB dress code policies.
  • Punctuality/Attendance: Ensure timely arrival and attendance, maintaining a high level of reliability.
  • Attitude/Teamwork: Demonstrate a positive attitude, working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve guest satisfaction.
  • Job Skills/Knowledge/Productivity: Possess working knowledge of restaurant operations, seating procedures, and guest relations.
  • Adherence to Policy: Adhere to HOB policies, procedures, and standards, ensuring compliance and guest satisfaction.
  • Sanitation and Safety: Maintain a clean and safe environment, adhering to House of Blues standards.
  • Guest Satisfaction: Focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
  • Communications: Possess excellent communication skills, interacting effectively with guests and colleagues.
  • Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training Certification or Equivalent: Possess or obtain certification, ensuring responsible service practices.
  • High School Diploma: Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, demonstrating a basic level of education.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Point of Sales knowledge, preferably MICROS: Possess knowledge of point-of-sale systems, preferably MICROS.
  • Previous experience handling VIP customers: Possess experience handling VIP customers, ensuring exceptional service delivery.
  • Previous Customer Service/Host experience: Possess previous customer service or host experience, demonstrating a strong understanding of hospitality principles.
  • Skills in interpersonal communication and teamwork: Possess excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork skills, working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve guest satisfaction.
Physical Demands/Working Environment:

The working environment is fast-paced, requiring extended periods of standing and working on your feet. The position requires the ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds using proper lifting techniques.
