Maintenance Operations Manager

Position Overview:


This role is pivotal in ensuring the operational efficiency of J.B. Hunt's equipment by minimizing downtime and optimizing asset utilization while managing maintenance expenditures.

The individual will oversee the coordination of repair activities with both internal maintenance teams and external service providers. This position involves leading a team of coordinators and authorizing repair costs and Comchecks that exceed $2,000.00.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Supervise vendors to guarantee timely completion of repairs while maintaining cost control.

2. Analyze reports to effectively manage and direct departmental workflows.

3. Oversee maintenance outsource personnel.

4. Collaborate with dealership representatives to ensure warranty claims are honored and necessary parts are retained.

5. Strive to minimize repair costs, including the approval of high-cost repairs exceeding $2,000.00.

6. Maintain updated vendor profiles and submit change requests to management as needed.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:


High school diploma or GED; a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; must be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Knowledge of automotive and/or diesel mechanics; experience in automotive services.

2. Up to 1 year of supervisory experience.

3. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

4. Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with team members, clients, and vendors.

5. Capacity to exercise discretion and make timely decisions.

6. Proficiency in managing multiple priorities and multitasking.

7. Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

8. Skill in managing high-pressure situations and resolving conflicts.

9. Ability to read, interpret, and analyze data from reports.

10. Basic deductive reasoning and customer service skills.

11. Decision-making abilities and a strong sense of urgency.

12. Experience in a fast-paced environment, including call center operations and invoicing.

13. Interest in learning new technologies and self-motivation.

14. Solution-oriented mindset.

This position does not qualify for employment-based sponsorship.

Compensation:


Starting pay may vary based on skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

Eligibility for annual bonuses and incentives may be available based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the company's incentive plans.
