As a key member of the Heritage Environmental Services, LLC team, the Plant Operations Engineer will provide critical engineering oversight for all plant operations, equipment, and systems. This role will oversee site Process Safety Management (PSM), Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Mechanical Integrity inspection and testing programs, ensuring that all plant systems and processes meet engineering standards and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Health and Safety: Ensure that Health and Safety is the top priority by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
- Process Reliability: Improve plant process reliability through the implementation of a preventative and predictive maintenance strategy.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare reports documenting plant activities to satisfy regulatory requirements.
- Energy Efficiency: Develop and implement energy cost reduction initiatives.
- Safety Standards: Supply technical input on safety issues and standards.
- Engineering Design: Provide engineering design and cost estimation of plant modifications and upgrades.
- Troubleshooting: Aid in troubleshooting operation process and system problems.
- Project Management: Supply management assistance for larger maintenance projects that require contractors, contractor requirements, process studies, improvements, and other related tasks.
- Facility Support: Assist in responding to and preparing permit applications and/or modifications, and support multiple facilities owned and/or operated by Heritage.
- Education: A four-year college degree in engineering or engineering technology is required, with mechanical engineering preferred.
- Experience: 3-5 years of engineering experience in relevant industrial plant operations is required, with previous supervisory experience also required.
- Knowledge and Abilities: Ability to learn and apply federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to the environmental services industry, as well as engineering standards. High-level problem-solving, project management, leadership, collaboration, and communication skills are required. Strong mechanical aptitude, business writing skills, and organizational skills are also necessary.
