Director of Philanthropy

Valeo Resources is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Philanthropy to join our team in South Los Angeles. As a key member of our Philanthropy and Marketing team, you will be responsible for developing and building positive relationships with individual and corporate donors in Southern California.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain a portfolio of high net-worth individuals, families, and private foundations
  • Make direct solicitations and assist the board and other staff with their solicitation
  • Consult with the VP of Philanthropy and Events Manager to create and supervise implementation of targeted events for prospects and donors
  • Create, develop, and lead fundraising events for our LA-based programs
  • Ensure donor acknowledgement, stewardship, and public recognition, as appropriate

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree, Graduate Degree preferred
  • At least five years (eight or more preferred) combined experience in donor relations, with strong connections to the LA/Southern California philanthropic community
  • Familiarity with donor management database systems, and ability to research necessary information on prospects
  • Ability to successfully and effectively represent HealthRIGHT 360 and merged agencies in diverse forums and maintain a broad spectrum of relationships with donors and potential donors
