Job Title: Program Manager A

Join our team as a Program Manager A at Olympic College, where you will play a vital role in establishing and maintaining a Hunger-Free campus initiative, free food programs, and other innovative ways to support students who may be food insecure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and maintain a free food program from design to implementation, tracking, monitoring, evaluating, surveying, and supporting program participants.
  • Coordinate with the Basic Needs Navigator to implement program and policies for a hunger-free campus initiative.
  • Collaborate with community food programs to increase food opportunities for students.
  • Coordinate with Student Government of Olympic College / SGOC to support their food pantry and help increase food availability.
  • Reconcile program financial budgets, spend, and monitor expenditures, plan and implement fiscal spenddown, keep the Director informed of spending, issues, and potential barriers as necessary.
  • Create work study positions and supervise students to help with implementation on all three campuses.
  • Draft and edit correspondence and printed materials related to programs' policies, procedures, and operations, ensuring all materials are accurate, visually appealing, and easy to read.
  • Facilitate enrollment and support by acting as a liaison between staff, program participants, Washington State Achievement Council / WSAC to coordinate and assist with student enrollment, providing ongoing support through the enrollment process.
  • Serve as the Designated Support Staff to execute Olympic College's support plan as directed by WSAC for designated populations.
  • Monitor specialized funding and distribute to program participants.
  • Collaborate with internal programs and community organizations to promote program initiatives and provide support and resources for incoming and current students.
  • Maintain regular communication with program participants to provide support and recognize their achievements, using various methods to strengthen relationships and ensure participants feel valued and supported.
  • Oversee the operations of a free book lending library and laptop lending programs.
  • Maintain up-to-date book lending library.
  • Communicate to students, staff, and faculty to help increase the knowledge and awareness of the book lending library.
  • Support students acquiring textbooks by assisting them in finding their titles, lending books if available, and directing students to other resources to help meet their book needs.
  • Track students with borrow/return processes, communicate, and data entry for all borrowed books.
  • Analyze current book lending processes to help streamline processes, remove barriers, and improve services to students.
  • Support OC Promise scholars with book lending through the lending library and purchase books when needed.
  • Implement and maintain a laptop lending program.
  • Assist staff in supporting students who seek support with the Resource Center.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for students who walk into the Resource Center, providing information and direction, performing a variety of communication functions.
  • Monitor student utilization for those who enter the Resource Center through Who's Next and compiling statistics as needed.
  • Tracking students who enter the Resource Center through Who's Next and compiling statistics when needed.
  • Use spreadsheet and database software to develop and maintain records.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Have education and/or experience in serving unrepresented populations.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 Suite preferred.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Associate degree with 2 years' experience in a higher education environment.
  • Experience, compassion, and understanding while working with individuals who may present with extreme challenges due to poverty and food insecurity.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions.
  • Experience with MS Office 365 Forms creation and usage.
  • Adherence to and knowledge of FERPA.

  • Demonstrated experience in interpreting, reviewing, and applying program-specific policies, procedures, and regulation.
  • Ability to anticipate problems and take necessary action to eliminate or mitigate them.
Additional Information:

This is a full-time classified position scheduled to work 40 hours a week, with a salary range of $50,328 - $67,716. All classified positions will start their salary at Step A, when you have completed six months of probation, you will receive a 5 percent pay increase. A collective bargaining agreement exists, and this position is covered by the Washington Public Employees Associate (WPEA) Union.
