Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to the preparation list established by chefs to organize tasks effectively.
- Label and arrange all ingredients on shelves for easy access and organization.
- Accurately measure ingredients and seasonings for cooking.
- Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, and cutting meats.
- Perform basic cooking tasks such as reducing sauces and parboiling foods.
- Prepare simple dishes including salads and entrees.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste.
- Ensure proper storage of all food and other items.
- Comply with nutritional and sanitation standards.
- Execute additional kitchen duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a prep cook.
- Food Handler Certificate Required
- Proven knowledge of fundamental food preparation principles, various cooking techniques, and food safety regulations.
- Ability to demonstrate basic math and counting skills, along with effective interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
- This position may involve physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking and standing. Uniforms and/or Personal Protective Equipment may be required.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Starting pay at $13/hr based on experience, plus benefits.
- Work Schedule: 9:00 am - 5:30 pm, Saturday/Sunday position.
- Comprehensive benefits package including healthcare, dental, vision, and 401k program.
