Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Customer Service Representative to join our team at Community Bank System. As a key member of our banking team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences and providing top-notch financial services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide quality customer service and a positive banking experience by handling financial transactions with a professional attitude.
  • Needs Assessment: Determine customer needs, explain and sell products and services that meet their requirements.
  • Branch Prospecting: Participate in branch prospecting efforts to identify new business opportunities.
  • Customer Support: Assist customers with requests such as stop payments, wire transfers, balance discrepancies, loan information, and other banking-related inquiries.
  • Liaison: Serve as a liaison between customers and operational areas to ensure seamless communication and resolution of issues.
  • Teller Support: May provide backup to the teller line as needed to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Policy Adherence: Ability to understand and adhere to established policies and procedures, as well as maintain proficient knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Product Knowledge: Internal product and services knowledge.
  • Math Skills: Accurate and proficient math skills.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Professional and friendly interpersonal communications skills.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient computer skills.
  • Critical Thinking: Clear thinking and ability to stay focused.
  • Banking Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of bank products and services.
  • Core Values: Must consistently demonstrate the Company's core values: a strong work ethic, integrity, respect for others, responsibility, transparency, and humility.
  • Experience: Two (2) years of bank and/or customer service experience normally required.
Compensation and Benefits

Competitive compensation package, including a salary range of $17.50 to $23.82 per hour, plus potential for annual merit increase. Additionally, you will be rewarded with benefits such as 11 paid holidays, paid vacation, medical, vision, and dental insurance, 401K with generous match, pension, tuition reimbursement, banking discounts, and more.
