Role Summary

The Corporate Accountant plays a vital role within the Finance & Accounting department, engaging in essential functions such as processing accounts receivable and accounts payable, managing vendor invoices, and overseeing cash disbursements. This position reports directly to the Controller and collaborates closely with the accounting team, administrative personnel, facilities management, IT, operational due diligence, and external vendors. The Corporate Accountant is instrumental in identifying opportunities for process enhancements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the administration of company travel and expense (T&E) and accounts payable (A/P) systems, collaborating with the Controller on system setup and user training.
  • Conduct independent financial data analysis and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and maintain thorough documentation.
  • Ensure timely processing of vendor invoices, confirming proper authorization, coding, and accuracy.
  • Manage ACH payment runs through SAP Concur, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Maintain and update vendor databases, including contract management and verification of payment instructions.
  • Reconcile company credit card transactions, ensuring timely payments and accurate general ledger coding.
  • Provide accurate financial reporting and participate in month-end closing activities.
  • Review employee expense reimbursements and accounts payable for compliance with company policies.
  • Record financial transactions, including invoices and payments, and reconcile general ledger accounts as assigned.
  • Generate management information reports from accounting records to support financial forecasting and analysis.
  • Prepare tax reporting by member to ensure compliance with state withholding requirements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • 4-6 years of relevant experience in accounting or a similar capacity, with hands-on experience in accounts payable, financial reporting, and reconciliation.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting and A/P systems; familiarity with Sage Intacct and SAP Concur is advantageous.
  • Experience in processing vendor invoices and managing payment databases.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, for financial analysis and reporting.
  • Strong organizational abilities with a proven track record of managing projects and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
