Mechanical Engineering Trainee Program

Position Overview:
This program offers a comprehensive pathway to achieve a Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade qualification over a four-year period. Participants will engage in structured training through a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) combined with hands-on experience in a dynamic work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
As a trainee, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Conduct scheduled maintenance and repair work on diesel mining machinery.
  • Prepare and set up machinery, including marking out jobs and organizing materials, tools, and fixtures for machining tasks.
  • Operate various workshop equipment, such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders.
  • Perform machining tasks including drilling, reaming, turning, milling, grinding, and boring.
  • Maintain and repair existing mining machinery.
  • Assist with general duties appropriate to your skill level and training.

Candidate Requirements:
To be considered for this program, you should possess:

  • A strong commitment to both practical and theoretical training.
  • Mechanical aptitude complemented by solid mathematical skills and a genuine interest in the engineering field.
  • A positive mindset and eagerness to acquire new skills and knowledge.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • A willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical evaluation, including drug and alcohol screening.
