Job Title: Automotive Functional Safety Engineer

At TUV SUD America, Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Automotive Functional Safety Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of connected and automated vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and analyze functional safety and technical safety concepts and requirements according to relevant standards during essential project phases of the customers.
  • Perform Confirmation and verification reviews independently based on ISO 26262 standards.
  • Perform audits/assessments of safety processes and related safety management processes for clients seeking compliance with standards in functional safety and related fields.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, global teams, and customers on Functional Safety and relevant other safety standards.
  • Manage external partners to ensure compliance across all parts of the vehicle system.
  • Advise clients regarding the system specification and development while following applicable technical standards as well as standards on quality, safety, etc.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in applied physics, Informatics, or Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or Systems Engineering.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of professional experience with ISO 26262, and preferably experience in Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and/or Autonomous Driving (AD).
  • Experience with further safety standards relating to automotive and other industries is a plus.
  • Experience/knowledge in the field of Automotive Cybersecurity (ISO/SAE is a plus.
  • Practical project management and work experience in the automotive sector.
  • Confident dealing with external and internal contact persons.
  • Good comprehension, critical and analytical thinking.
  • Independent, structured, and result-oriented way of working.
  • Team player with good communication skills.
