Dexis Consulting Group is seeking a skilled American Sign Language (ASL) instructor to teach introductory ASL to USAID staff. The consultant will develop course materials, teach weekly 1-hour sessions, and provide coaching to staff members.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ASL, experience teaching adult learners, and the ability to design engaging course content. Dexis values diversity, equity, and inclusion and strives to create a safe and respectful environment for all employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver ASL instructional content to adult learners
- Teach weekly 1-hour sessions to USAID staff
- Provide coaching to staff members through online ASL office hours
- Develop and manage course materials and supplementary resources
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and 3 years of relevant experience or Master's degree and 1 year of relevant experience
- Fluent in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Experience teaching introductory ASL to hearing adults with no prior background in ASL or Deaf Culture
