Job Summary

This is a unique opportunity to work in a hybrid environment with a leading financial institution. As a Relationship Manager III, you will be responsible for developing and managing commercial banking relationships to maximize profitability for the bank while minimizing risk.

Key Responsibilities
  • Relationship Management
    • Manage the largest and most complex relationships, requiring in-depth analysis and strategic planning.
    • Deliver meaningful, sustainable value to customers by anticipating their needs and expectations and providing tailored solutions.
    • Ensure the integrity and timeliness of customer information, documentation, and data.
    • Ensure each relationship is profitable and represents acceptable risk.
    • Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and support to junior staff on customer inquiries and issues.
    • Mentor junior staff and help manage workflow within the team.
  • Credit Management
    • Assess borrower credit-worthiness for new loan requests, adhering to credit policy guidelines.
    • Present loan opportunities to credit approvers, including thorough analysis and well-reasoned recommendations.
    • Ensure loans are properly documented in accordance with credit approvals.
    • Manage enterprise risk for products and services, including depository services and treasury management products, as well as fraudulent activity.
  • Business Development
    • Maintain expert knowledge of commercial banking products and services.
    • Pursue an active calling effort to maintain an extensive pipeline of new business opportunities.
    • Assist less experienced Relationship Managers by providing insight and recommendations on marketing and deal flow management.
    • Provide existing and prospective customers with appropriate financial services and advice.
    • Lead community visibility and involvement through strategic relationships with centers of influence and organizations.
    • Maintain a pipeline of business leaders and prospects.
    Requirements
    • Education
      • Bachelor's degree
    • Experience
      • Minimum 8 years of experience in commercial lending as a credit analyst, underwriting specialist, or portfolio manager.
      • Minimum 4 years of experience as a Relationship Manager.
      • Expert understanding of treasury management services and other banking products.
    • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
      • Expert accounting and finance knowledge.
      • Exceptional technical skills.
      • Expert knowledge of laws and regulations, and compliance related to commercial lending.
      • Demonstrated ability to negotiate on behalf of the bank and borrower while balancing risk and shareholder value.
      • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, as well as analytic and problem-solving skills.
      • Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate flexibility as business dictates.
      • Ability and willingness to investigate, resolve, and recommend process improvement opportunities.
      • Ability to effectively plan, manage, and delegate to others.
