Job Title: TX Relief Operator with CDL

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Relief Operator to join our team at Steel Partners. As a Relief Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our workover rigs, while also providing exceptional customer service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assume the role of Operator in the absence of the Rig Operator, under the direction of a Rig Manager.
  • Organize and lead the rig crew, conducting Job Safety Meetings and delegating tasks as needed.
  • Drive the Rig to the work site, operate the rig and equipment, and direct the crew to set up and prepare the rig for tasks.
  • Direct the assigned floor hands and derrick hands to safely perform service tasks, documenting services performed and time elapsed.
  • Use specialized equipment to guide instruments, tubing, and casing down holes, maintaining a clean and organized working environment.
  • Clean, fuel, repair, and maintain workover rig equipment, including greasing, changing oils, and lubricants as needed.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of Floor Hand experience.
  • 1-2 years of Derrick hand experience.
  • Advanced problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal skills, and verbal/written English communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Class B CDL license to drive workover rig (not required but encouraged).
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and lift objects of up to seventy-five pounds for extended periods.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to pass company's pre-employment exam, including a drug screen and physical.
  • Acceptable criminal history.
Working Conditions:

This position requires standing, walking, and sitting while working either indoors or outdoors. The ability to read, write, and speak English to the extent that they can understand verbal and written instructions as well as give verbal and written instructions in English is also required.
